The Maine Conservation Voters gave Governor Janet Mills an A rating for her environmental work during her first 100 days in office.
The governor’s work on climate change and energy independence are among the initiatives that MCV cited. From opposing offshore drilling for oil to solar power initiatives to reviving the Land for Maine’s Future program to advocating for the addition of new properties to provide public access and increase recreational opportunities for boaters, anglers, hunters, bird watchers, and other outdoor sports enthusiasts, the MCA report offers lots of reasons for applauding the governor’s first 100 days.
Personally, I appreciate the governor’s selection of Judy Camuso as our Fish and Wildlife Department Commissioner, and her strong support for Judy’s many initiatives to improve and expand DIF&W’s important work.
